Frequently Asked Questions

How is my age on other planets calculated?
We work out how many Earth days you have lived, convert that to Earth years, then divide by each planet's orbital period (its "year"). On Mercury, which orbits the Sun in about 88 days, you are much "older"; on Neptune, which takes about 165 Earth years, you are barely a fraction of a year old.
Why am I so old on Mercury and so young on Neptune?
A planet's year is the time it takes to orbit the Sun once. Mercury's year is short, so you rack up many Mercury years; Neptune's year is very long, so you have completed almost none. Your real age never changes — only the unit does.
Is Pluto included?
Yes. Pluto is shown by default and clearly labelled as a dwarf planet, because it is a fan favourite. The International Astronomical Union reclassified it in 2006, but it is still fun to see your Pluto age.
